About our Pack Leader

Matt was born for this role in life. His nick name is 'The Dog', briefly in teenage years this changed to 'Le Chien'. In Dec 2008 Matt met Reuben the Weimaraner, and decided to become a pet parent, inseparable from day one.

In March 2009 Matt decided to leave his 9 – 5 and strike a path of his own, following his passion – the idea of BnR was born. Nearly 7 months of volunteering with local dog facilities in addition to completing pet CPR first aid courses, Matt gained the knowledge and confidence to be the pack leader. Reuben is a Sears model, dog actor and together we are members of the St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dog program.

BnR is truly a team effort, with the help of friends & family, Barks n' Rec opened in Dec 2009. Thanks to amazing staff and a few adopted siblings along the way, Jed & Edna the past 8+ years has been an amazing adventure. Matt is happy to say his passion is still everything dog.
